SFTP Setup for Surveys and Insights

WorkTango can connect with almost any modern HRIS System through an SFTP import process. Once you’ve determined your employee attributes and added the configurations to WorkTango Settings you are ready to automate your employee management. 

How to Setup SFTP 

  1. Contact your WorkTango Technical Project Manager or WorkTango Customer Support team to have a private SFTP server created. Once this is completed, they will send you credentials and instructions on how to connect to it from your HRIS.
  2. Once SFTP has been created:

To access, please follow these steps. Note that you will be provided with a password via a secure link to ensure security. 

  • Download and Install FileZilla Client: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
  • Click File —> Site Manager (top left) 
  • Add New Site (name it WorkTango) 
  • Enter credentials: 
    • Protocol: SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol 
    • Host: sftp.worktango.io 
    • Port: 22 
    • Login Type: Key File 
    • User: (to be shared by WorkTango team) 
    • Navigate to and select your .ppk file 
  • Click Connect 
  • Enter password  (provided by your Technical Project Manager or WorkTango Support team)
  1. Schedule a .csv export to WorkTango (weekly or monthly) to WorkTango to the sFTP server. Please contact your HRIS support if you need further assistance.
  2. Testing and validation of employee data. Once you have uploaded your .csv user file, reach out to customersupport@worktango.com to validate if your uploaded file is accessible on the WorkTango end

Q. How long does it take to set up SFTP?

A: Your dedicated Technical Project Manager or WorkTango Customer Support team will provide you with the necessary information: key file, SFTP credentials within a week. The setup on your end can happen immediately after.
