Admin Two Factor Authentication

  • Updated

WorkTango is committed to providing our customers with best-in-class tools for preventing rewards and points fraud. Company admins who do not use SSO are required to log in to the platform using 2FA for additional security.

As part of WorkTango’s commitment to providing safe and secure technologies, Recognition & Rewards administrators will be required to log into WorkTango via two factor authentication (2FA) starting on December 12, 2024. This change impacts administrator users who do not use SSO to access WorkTango.

Why two factor authentication?

Two factor authentication is the newest enhancement to WorkTango’s Recognition & Rewards product. This common security feature requires two different methods to confirm an admin’s identity before they can access the system or application. Think of it as an extra layer of protection on top of the usual username and password—it's a part of our multi-factor authentication (MFA) approach that keeps all user information safe and sound.

WorkTango’s new 2FA feature allows us to improve your cybersecurity in the following ways:

  • Further reduce risk of fraudulent Reward redemptions
  • Reduce risk of hackers and other bad actors from committing points fraud, artificially increasing your points liability, or creating fraudulent user accounts in your platform.

Logging in to WorkTango with two factor authentication

For customers who do not utilize secure single sign-on (SSO), WorkTango now requires administrators to login via our two factor authentication tool. This is required for using any/all WorkTango platform features, not just admin features. Follow these steps to login.

Step 1: Navigate to WorkTango’s login page.

Step 2: Enter your username and password. After you enter your credentials, click the Sign-In button.

Step 3: Check your inbox. WorkTango will send a verification code via email to your inbox. Please note that WorkTango Support will not be able to view your code.

Step 4: Enter your unique, one-time verification code, then click the Verify account button. This will grant you access to WorkTango. The code expires after 10 minutes. You will need to repeat the 2FA process each time you log in to WorkTango.

Only WorkTango users with the “admin” role are required to use 2FA for logging in. Other users can continue to log in via their traditional username and password credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why is this happening?

A1: As part of WorkTango’s commitment to providing safe and secure technologies, Recognition & Rewards administrators will be required to log in to WorkTango via two factor authentication (2FA) starting on December 13, 2024. This change only impacts administrator users who do not use SSO to access WorkTango.

Q2: Are there any alternatives to this?

A2: WorkTango strives to offer best-in-class tools for preventing fraud. Accordingly, we will require 2FA for all administrative users that do not currently have SSO enabled for their company. As an alternative to admin 2FA, WorkTango recommends partnering with your IT team to implement SSO for your organization. Review WorkTango’s available SSO Integrations to determine if your SSO tool is supported by WorkTango.

Q3: Can Support tell me the code if I don’t receive the email?

A3: No. This code is sent securely via email to your company email address. WorkTango Support does not have access to this code. If you have not received your code, check your spam folder. If the code has not arrived after 30 minutes, contact Support for assistance.
