Setting up birthday, milestone, and anniversary recognitions

  • Updated

Special Recognition can go a long way in helping you manage your milestone celebrations. You can automate anniversary special recognitions using a rule-based mechanism by creating milestone rules that are triggered once an employee meets set criteria e.g., one year of service or their date of birth.

To establish the milestone recognition rules, access the admin dashboard from the platform home page. From the Recognition & Rewards menu on the left-hand side of the screen, select Special Recognition. If you are recognizing anniversaries and birthdays, please make sure these fields are toggled on.

Special Recognition options

Birthday Recognition

To set up birthday recognition, select the edit option beside Birthday Recognition.

Enter the amount of points you would like to send, as well as the message you’d like to send with the recognition. A default message is provided, but can be updated to suit your needs.

You will also have the option to post the recognition to your organization’s feed - this means that every user will see the recognition. If you toggle this setting off, it will create a private post on the user’s profile activity feed.

Anniversary & Milestone Recognition

To create an anniversary recognition, select the Add Anniversary option from the page.

Enter the amount of points you’d like to send with the recognition, as well as how frequently you’d like the recognition to be sent. The frequency options are days, years, or annual. A number of days or years can be specified when selecting those options.

There is a standard message populated for recognition, but it can be updated to suit your needs. You will also have the option to post the recognition to your organization’s feed - this means that every user will see the recognition. If you toggle this setting off, it will create a private post on the user’s profile feed.

If you have a specific milestone recognition setup up in addition to annual anniversary recognition, the milestone recognition will take priority of the annual recognition. For example, if you add a 5 year anniversary recognition, the employee will receive the 5 year milestone recognition and not the annual recognition. Employees cannot receive two anniversary recognitions on the same date.
